Tamil political prisoners in Welikada go on fast unto death demanding their release
A group of Tamil political prisoners detained in Welikada prison went on a fast unto death on Wednesday inside the prison complex demanding the authorities either to release them or to produce them in court.
These prisoners are detained for many years without being charged with any crime and not being produced in court.

Reports state the IMF has rejected a request from the U.S based Innercity Press who asked for the terms and conditions under which the 2.5 billion U.S dollar loan was granted.
The Innercity press filed a report saying this loan provided by the IMF would be used against the Tamils to destroy them and requested for the terms and conditions under which the approval was given.

Five days after crowning himself the LTTE leader post-Prabhakaran, Selvarasa Pathmanathan alias KP expressed confidence that India would help Eelam Tamils achieve their aspirations for a separate homeland.
