TNA to nominate Dr. Thomas Thangathurai William for Ampaarai district
Tamil National Alliance (TNA) is to nominate Dr. Thomas Thangathurai William as its parliament member for Ampaarai district to fill the vacancy created with the death of Kanagasabai Pathmanathan.
He died in Mathurai in South India following brief illness, according to TNA sources.
Dr. Thomas Thangathurai William, who was second to late Kanagasabai Pathmanathan in the 2004 general election under the preferential system, is a native of Pandiruppu in Ampaarai district.
He is expected to be sworn in as MP when the parliament meets this week.
