SLASA appeals for immediate release of Kilinochchi GA
Sri Lanka Administrative Service Association (SLASA) has strongly condemned the arrest of Kilinochchi Government Agent (GA), S. Vethanayagan, by Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and appealed to the authorities concerned to release him immediately, according to sources in Colombo.
In its public appeal the SLASA said that Vethanayagam has served in the Sri Lanka Administrative Service (SLAS) for 20 years and more in civil administrative service.
It also said that his remarkable and dedicated service could be traced from the records in his personal file.
SLASA also said that GA Vethanayagam has been discharging his duties as the GA of Kilinochchi in cooperation with Sri Lanka Army (SLA) in Vanni, serving the Vanni people with utmost dedication to mitigate their plights.
The authorities concerned should take into consideration the grief and anxiety of his two school going children and family, the appeal further said.
