THE DUAL DANCE OF KARUNANITHI (Karunaganari)

DMK president and Tamil Naadu Chief Minister M Karunanithi is not only a great writer, speaker, and a poet but also a political actor and a dancer as well.  To glorify his Tamil Conference 2010, he ordered to release 1400 criminals from prisons in Tamil Naadu while 700 Eelam Tamil families were locked up inside their refugee camp in Vedar Colani.  Coimbatore where the conference was held is only 40 Km away from vedar colani, the pathetic thing is these Thoppulkodi Tamils were not allowed to go out of their camp even for their daily work or for shopping till the  session of the World Classical Tamil Conference ended.  Roman king Nero was fiddled (playing music instrument) while Rome was burning, Karunanithy was writing letters, sending telegrams and staging his drama while thousands of Tamils were perishing by the hands of the barbaric Srilankan forces supported by his central government and their allies.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.Karunanithi is trying to put a bandage without stopping the bleeding of the Tamil people; the shed blood is still wet. If this world Tamil classical conference is for Tamils, why should the Tamils in vedar Colani were locked up? He should realize the fact that the Tamil Nation should survive and be alive to keep Tamil Language growing. Karunaganari must remember that it was a Sri Lankan Tamil, Fr. Xavier S.Thaninayagam (1913-1980) organized the First World Conference on Tamil Studies in Kuala Lumpur in 1966, and also the fact that the Sri Lanka’s Tamils are the second largest linguistic group in the world.

Sri lankan Tamils were willfully ignored by the organizers of the World Classical Tamil Conference, and top leaders of Lanka’s Tamil-speaking communities were not invited, though Prof. K.Sivathamby had been given a major role at the conference.  Persons like Thaninayagam Adigalar, who sacrificed a lot for the growth of the Tamil language were not honoured at the conference. People gathered at the conference were with heavy hearts for no political solution has been found yet for Tamils in Sri Lanka, despite hundreds of promises.

There is a time for everything under the Sun, a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck;  A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;  A time will come for Karunanithi and his children, and his children’s children to pay for all what they bought upon the Tamils unless repent and repair the damage.
